Slightly annoyed that once it was revealed who much of a piece of shit Wilbur, Punz and George are, people jumped to two conclusions.

1: all ex dsmp members are horrible people

2: other mcyters, especially hermits, can’t be bad people

You’re going from one parasocial relationship to another by doing that. One of the worst takes I saw was that some can’t be bad, they have a wife and kids.

So Keralis who played Hogwarts legacy can’t be bad then because he has a family but Aimsey who only has a girlfriend is considered bad just like Wilbur because they were once a dsmp member?

Ranboo must be horrible because he played on the dsmp right? Ignore him and his community donating to charities to help overseas.

But Welsknight is 100% the YouTuber to watch because he’s a hermit, therefore good. Ignore him debating over on twitter right now over if using AI art for private use is okay or not while posting said art publicly.

Are these examples on the same level as what Wilbur did? Dear god no. My point is that you shouldn’t bring people down because a streamer they liked turned out bad and then act like your streamer isn’t like the other girls. No, none of the examples here are abusive shits but it doesn’t mean they’ve had bad takes or currently do.

It shouldn’t annoy me but god damn people knocked into the dsmp fandom to not have parasocial behaviour with streamers and most understood that. Yet I’m seeing people saying that their streamer can’t do anything bad. No, you don’t know them, stop acting like they’re a saint and others are stains.

Conclusion, support Shelby and other victims, fuck Wilbur George and Punz, you do not know a streamer or YouTuber and none of the hermits are perfect and good, stop shitting on ex-dsmp members who didn’t abuse their partners, you’re not helping.
